Easy way out auto column.
Just thought I would share the pics of this standard column I converted to auto. I plan on getting a Iditit at some point but for now this works fine. Lokar shift linkage $44.00, gear selector and pointer $35.00.

Re: Easy way out auto column.
The lokar kit was pretty simple, although because I have my engine sitting in the 6 cyl. position rear mount position, I had to add about 2 inches to the shaft to make it long enough to reach. After it is conected, you just have to play with the position of the shaft on the slot to make your pointer index right on the selector letters. Here is where I picked up the gear selector. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...0616897&rd=1,1 I also had to trim some plastic off the selector to get the bracket to sit down on the column, no big deal.
