Sam's 1960 GMC build.

Hey guys, just was looking at some threads on here and thought I should start a build up thread to show my progress on my 60 GMC Here are just a few pics of what I have on my computer right now. As it sits in the drive way right now its in primer. The truck has a very strong running 305 V6. I'm working on building a small block for the truck. The pic of it on the trailer is the day I brought it home. Let me know what you think guys I'm alway open to ideas/ input.

Welcome aboard! Glad to see another '60 GMC owner. How come you got rid of the nostril hood? The '60 and '61 GMC hoods are getting harder and harder to come by.....Sweet truck though.

i know i really like them. if i do decide to put my small block in there i will build a cluster to fit in the glove box facing the driver so it looks all og in there at first glance.

Re: my build thread

Cool truck, and from AZ. Ive seen a couple trucks with the early hood that looked good, but I have to say the later one is an improvement.

sams60gmc:

Welcome to the boards from Kansas City, KS. My brother lives in Medford, OR and I am going out there in the next few months to bring a '62 GMC 4x4 Suburban back with me.

Let me know if you need some parts, because I currently have lots of good stuff at my brother's place in Medford and lots of good stuff at my shop in Kansas City.

Your rig looks great and congrats on all your progress. Please keep us posted with lots of pictures.

Re: my build thread

You got to love that for 20$, looks good. I put new shorter shocks on after I did my jeep coils. Rides great, I would highly recomend it. ( check my thread with part numbers, I used a procomp toxic shock, (cheap) 30$ each... Looking good, love the stance. What kind of drop did you end up getting?

After I did new shocks I don't hit the rubbers anymore... A lot Of guys just cut them down a little...
