Replacing front and rear roll pans with bumpers on 85!

Hi all, I'm new to this site and this is my first post! I just got a 85 swb and it has front and rear roll pans on it! I want to add bumpers, anyone ever do this! I ordered bumpers and brackets and the came today! I'm aware that the frame had to be cut a little in the front but will be using the outer brackets only in the front. Can I just cut openings for the brackets and mount bumpers or will I have to cut them all the way off? Any help/advice greatly appreciated

Outer brackets only on the front bumper will not work. You would only have 2 bolts on the bumper and 2 bolts on the frame holding it on...not enough...not even close. I would fabricate the inner brackets to work with your cut frame...you really want to use all six mounting points in my opinion.

Thanks! There wouldn't be 4 bolts on the front bumper and 4 on the frame?

Outer braces have one mounting provision on each end. Each front frame horn has 2. Bumper has six total bolts.

Junk yard. Cut off more than you need, then trim to fit your frame and weld in place with some added fishplates.
