Newer model rally centers
what lug nuts does one need to run some newer style wheel centers? do they take a plastic screw on cover on the outside of the lug nuts?
such as these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-97...Q5fAccessories

Re: Newer model rally centers
Which centers are you speaking of? The 88 and newer ones do use the screw on caps over the lugs to hold them on. McGard makes conversion lug nuts with the threads on the outside to fit them. (after 88, studs went to 14mm-1.5 threads rather than the 9/16-18 and 1/2-20 on the older trucks)

Re: Newer model rally centers
If you are talking about the covers for the 88 and up trucks then yes. You have two options: 1. get 14mm wheel studs and run factory lug nuts and covers or 2. get the specialty 1/2in lug nuts that are the same style. Either route you take you have to mdify the front dust caps a tad to fit. Hope this helps.

Re: Newer model rally centers
If my memory serves me correct the Astro/Safari Vans had 1/2 inch studs . If you can find some from one of those vans they will bolt right on your truck.

Re: Newer model rally centers
Actually the first years of the '88 and up body style used an SAE stud and lug nut, and the center cap pressed over the lug nuts. I'm not sure what year they switched to the metric with the screw on plastic caps. The picture may not show the first design very well.

Re: Newer model rally centers
I got mine off of a 92 chev. The half inch lug nuts (with the outer threads) from the auto parts store dont work, they have a samller o/d and associated cap. I tried it all.

Re: Newer model rally centers
You bought the car application lugs, there were two different outer threads, one for the cars, and one for the trucks. 1/2-1 ton trucks all shared the same larger outer thread size. I am unsure what the s-10s and all those used for the outer threads.
