Original type brake hose replacements?

I'm dealing with my frame off restoration of my 72 K10 chassis and I ordered a set of front brake caliper hoses and the rear brake hose from OReilly's. I had them special order the Wagner brand after looking at their own Brake Best brand hoses and comparing it to my original hose. The originals are ribbed and larger diameter. The Wagner's came in and they were reboxed Brake Best duplicates and the print on the hoses was identical down to the letter including made in China.

What have you others been using for original replacement hoses? I have shyed away from NOS brake parts do to the age factor.

Thanks
Mark

Re: Original type brake hose replacements?

I was trying to duplicate the factory original hoses which were about a 3/8 ribbed hose with about a 4 inch heavy protective cover at the caliper. The original protective covering was rubber ribbed legthwise to the hose if that makes sense. I'll try and take photo tomorrow. Thanks

Smile Re: Original type brake hose replacements?

These are close to the original hoses, minus the rubber hose guard that you are talking about, I know what type you are looking for but most of the newer ones only have the wire guard, plain smooth rubber or a plastic guard avaiable...

Re: Original type brake hose replacements?

The hoses sold today aren't even close to what the originals looked like. It's pretty sad but the way it is. Because of this, I bought the inline tube stainless ones. They cost more but look really good.
