Lost my slot's

I needed tires and was getting sick of the lack of availability and the price of 16.5's

So, I went back to steelies. I already had them in my shed. I'll keep the slots, maybe get them buffed out and put them on ice.

Now I have to worry about someone stealing my hubcaps.

Before...

Too bad there isn't a way to turn down 16.5 wheels to fit 16"

I like the white steelies better, and I love that license plate! Is that a new black and yellow one, or have you had that truck a long time?

It's one of the new ones. People were always asking me. "Does it run?'

There's the answer.

You can't go wrong with a stock setup on these trucks. It's a timeless look that always looks awesome.

Re: Lost my slot's

Looks great Paul. I liked the slots and love the steelies. Btw, you didn’t happen to buy those slots from a guy in Ridgecrest a few years back did you? Had no idea you were in Lake Isabella... right up the road from my old stomping grounds.

Thanks. I got them from a guy in Hesperia. Here's a pic from back when I actually took care of them.

Ah, gotcha. I sold my pretty much identical set in RC (for $80 UGGH!) and was wondering if we met and didn’t even know it!

I don't think I paid much more than that for these. But with polishing, tires, lugs, and center caps, I had a chunk of change into them.

I had a set before but they were to big, they needed to be on a 4X4 or a lifted truck. But the price was right...Free!

I was at the Pomona Swap Meet and it was wrapping up. I had been spying them, but didn't ask a price because I didn't bring my truck. I was driving my BMW. But when I saw them loading up I had to ask. How much?

The guy said "Take em' I don't want to load them.

So I squeezed them into the BMW. (they had tires and they were big) Everybody got a good laugh out of it.

Then I got them home and they didn't fit.

But I sold them for $200 bucks. So it all worked out.

Nice 68. I always liked that color. My 70 GMC was the same blue (or close) But it wasn't nearly as clean as yours.

Thanks for the compliment. The blue is Ford and the white is from a Mac truck. It use to be that Robin Egg Blue with white painted bumpers and grill. It stood out like a sore thumb and I couldn't pick my nose while driving because someone was watching. I picked these colours so as to blend in a bit and try not to be seen. I drove it light blue for 12-13 years and it was time for a change or sell the frigin thing. I priced new ones and not being in the market for years scared the heck out of me. I just wanted a truck not a moving home. Base 50 grand and go up from there, nope! I figure this one will last until I cash out. If I keep it oiled there might be something left to pass on. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Well I'm glad you can pick your nose now.

If that's a Ford color, it may be the same as what's on my Mustang. Maybe???

I looked up my records on the truck and the Blue colour( check the spelling) is Valspar Ford Code #SZ Blue Flame Metallic and I remember the paint guy saying that it was a 70-71 year. They very well might be the same colour(spelling again) and they just might be siblings with different fathers!! You have very classy taste when it comes to colours (spelling again) What can I say about the Ford that hasn't already been said eh? Kidding eh, nice ride.
