Anyone move their master cylinder?

I am going to be putting a straight 6 with stacks in my project which is a whole other story, but the problem is that the master cylinder is going to be right where the stacks are. Has anyone used either Scotts or NoLimits under floor frame mounted master? ..or devised some means of moving the master out over the wheel well. I did a bunch of searches and found a couple threads where someone got the parts but in the end doesn't look like they actually used them. It is going to be a hydroboost system so I won't really need to deal with some large vacuum booster.

I would rather come up with a way to do it under the hood as opposed to under the floor. Going under the floor means check valves and such because I'll have a master at around the same elevation as the calipers and then have to come up with some sort of boot for the lever, need to have some way to access it for fluid and a pedal with a somewhat unnatural feel since it pivots down instead of forward. I'd really like to just move the master over as close to the hood hinge as possible to get it out of the way while still having the same sort of feel to the pedal, maybe some sort of torque arm or something like a clutch linkage. Anyone done such a thing?

You might look at some of the Street rod set-ups.I saw one once at a show where the guy had the MC mounted under the dash.He said the only problem he had was filling it required a mirror and a big syringe with a hose. It's been a while so I don't remember particulars.

yea, I talked to Kugel and they do make a 90 degree pedal that puts the master inside under the dash. They basically said yes it would work but they would not recommend putting a hydroboost system inside the vehicle, that it was loud and probably not something you'd want there, and should it ever fail it was a lot of pressure of hot brake fluid to have above your feet. So Kugel are the ones that essentially talked me out of under the dash.

Re: Anyone move their master cylinder?

I think some dodge vans have theirs mounted 90° on the firewall. You might look into those to see how they work

Re: Anyone move their master cylinder?

Hmmm, that's interesting, the remote resevoir master, I'm not sure it actually solves the problem but if I was to come up with a way to move the master out further over the fenderwell it would make that easier. See the problem is that I think I'm going to have to fab a recess in the firewall just to clear the number 6 throttle body, stack and filter. I wonder how the pedal works on those Chryslers to be that low on the firewall.
