Bench seat question?

I'm getting ready to put the bench seat out of my 70 parts burb in my 72 C/10. The rear support leg on the drivers side slider assembly is broken, so I thought easy fix just bolt on the one from the 72 seat. Wrong, the support is differant and the seat bottom itself is differant as far as the ange of how they bolt on. I guess my question is, is there a differance in a burb bench and a truck bench, or were the supports changed between 70 and 72? I'll make it work, but this just made me curious.

Re: Bench seat question?

Ain't gotta clue, but makes me think that the floors are different and that's why the brackets are not the same from truck to 'burb.

Same here, but the bottom of the seat itself is made differant where the brackets bolt on, the brackets from the 72 won't even bolt on correctly. I'm going to take a look at the seat in my 67 and see what those brackets look like. It seems the seat is going too be at the same height from the floor as the original seat, ateast it does for now.

Re: Bench seat question?

Well the floor seems to measure the same as the truck, and after looking at my 67, I see another differant type of bracket! But it does more closely resemble the ones from the 70 burb. I'm going to weld up the broken one from the burb and go with it. Just kinda funny how the brackets changed over the years.
