How to ship a stepside fender---This is almost amazing!

My new shipping manager/department prepared this to ship...NO just kidding! This is a stepside fender I bought on the board from 72ironmike. His price included shipping...
Look at that crate! I couldn't believe how well this was packed. I think he built the box. It came Greyhound.
I offered to just take a refund when he told me how expensive the shipping was through FedEx/UPS.
He said he would ship it at that price...and he did!
Now that is just cool...a man of his word!
Thanks, Mike
PS: Oh and the fender is NOS and absolutely perfect!

Looks like the fender had a nice warm ride to Washington.

Re: How to ship a stepside fender---This is almost amazing!

I wish I could take credit. My little brother purchased a load of parts to get some doors and sell the rest to reduce his travel costs. We made a kamikaze run to Kentucky. I agonized over the best way to send this fender. Little brother only told me three or four times he'd take care of it but I wouldn't listen. Finally I gave up and turned it over to him. He runs his own construction clean up business and a couple of carpenters owed him some work. That is the result! You'd think I would learn a lesson and listen to little brother more often, but probably not!

Re: How to ship a stepside fender---This is almost amazing!

I bought a complete set of NOS upper and lower trim from him last summer and Mike not only delivered it but it was in a 10' PVC tube with end caps. I hated to even open it up since it is so nicely secure.
Great guy that Mike and his bro.

I suggest recycling that box.
Make it the "STANDARD" for shipping delicate parts.

Nice work!
Prob $50 in materials in that box.
