air bag questions
ok i have 2 of the viair 450 compressors and two 5 gallon tanks. i was told i could run both tanks off one pressure switch with a relay, anyone have a diagram? i am also using the ride pro valves from air ride tech, 4 way system, what would be the best way to plumb everything,valves, tanks, compressors??? im going to start running airline tommorow.

This answer could go on forever, but look into a nice high dollar alternator one that actually puts out a lot of power at idle. The 100 amp chromies that you see all the time dont do squat at idle, they only put out that kind of power spinning fast.
Yes you will only need one switch in the tanks but they will need to be T'd together somehow. A couple of tips. Use check valves behind the solenoids so air pressure cant go back if the tank pressure goes lower than the bag pressure. use a dryer. use a constant duty solenoid...probably two for your application. use DOT approved line I have switched from teflon tape on the threads to liquid loc-tite on the pipe fittings and find it seals better. Buy a box of flexloom from Napa, they sell 50ft boxes much cheaper than those individual packs. Send the 12 volts from your compressor switch to the pressure switch on the tank, from there send it to the solenoid. I actually use three way switch for that, I can flip it one way and it runs til the switch turns it on and off, or I can flip the switch the other way and turn it on manually. |
