Re: Anyone here had a bumper rechrome?

I had the front bumper on the 51 GMC rechromed by Ogden Chrome. It came out nice and I don’t remember any difficulties with them.

Re: Anyone here had a bumper rechrome?

If its done properly it works great although its expensive as opposed to just buying a vendor new one. I had my original front white bumper chromed in 2014 just after I bought the truck and still looks new with no rust or peeling problems although truck is a summer cruiser. I found a tired used original rear sport bumper with a couple of dents and holes drilled for a trailer wiring connector and had it done with holes filled at the same time and its still perfect.

Re: Anyone here had a bumper rechrome?

I just had Paul's Chrome in Evans City, PA redo both of mine. Expensive and long turnaround but show-quality work.

Re: Anyone here had a bumper rechrome?

I have not sent a bumper to get rechromed, but I bought a rechromed rear sport bumper from Rock Auto that is an original GM bumper and it looks perfect. It has only been on the truck for few months so I can't attest to it's durability but it looks great!
