engine cast number
I bought a 67 C10 with what I was told was a 327. Runs great has true double hump heads, headers, Weiand intake and a Holley 4 barrel. Now Im not so sure its a 327. the numbers on the fornt of the block are V0204CKH and 17K497669. the cast number on the back of the block are 3970010. Now I've looked at several list and CKH is either a 307 or a 350. 3970010 is a 305 or a 350 on another list it said 3970010 is either a 327 or a 350. it's like following a treasure map trying to figure out the clues to get a real answer. http://s38.photobucket.com/user/buck...42qsz.jpg.html

Re: engine cast number
I guess it's not hard to figure out you have a 350.
One clue it's not a 327 is the suffix code. From 1970 onward they were 3 letters. 327 was out of production before 1970. |

Re: engine cast number
thx Geezer... see you need a working knowledge of when they produced things. I dont know what Chevy was doing in 1970 that 4 years before I was born.
