x3 on original. Calling those newer ones a step side is a joke. Flare side is more like it.

Re: Stepside or Fleetside

I've always liked a stepside truck, and I've had a number of them. But, for overall better looks and cleaner lines to show off a great paint job, you can't beat the fleetside trucks.

Re: Stepside or Fleetside

If your stepper bed is shot and your on a budget then I would use the fleet side. But you are going to have side markers on the front and none on the rear. You could add the back markers and call it a 68,or delete the front and call it a 67.If you have the funds, repair your step bed or find a replacement.Pls don't use the late model step bed.$.02

Re: Stepside or Fleetside

Fleetside beds will allow you to go lower.
Not much height to the rear stepside fenders.

Aren't the top of stepside fenders higher than the top of fleetside wheel wells?

Do both. Step on one side, fleet on the other. That would really confuse people.

Re: Stepside or Fleetside

fleet, sorry but steps look dis-proportional. only step side i like is 68stepbed with his dark blue truck, it looks good, but fleets are awesome. besides, steps are just a waste of good usable bed space or good looking bed wood.

Depends on the usage. Step side trucks have a few key advantages not afforded to fleetsides.

Re: Stepside or Fleetside

I use mine most every day and it was a stepside when i bought it and i also use it to pull my boat. Then i bought a fleet and really liked the way it looked.

After going to the lake a few times with the fleetside i changed back to the stepside.

With the step you can back down the boat ramp till the back bumper is in the water and step over into the bed walk back and step over into the boat and never get your feet wet.

The only thing about a stepside is everytime you go somewhere some one wants to buy your truck. Steppers are classic i'll never go back
