Re: opinion needed please?
If you can get it cheap enough to use the suspension and sell the engine tranny or use them then it's probably a good deal.Keep in mind that after an engine sets for a while you may as well freshen it up.Gaskets and seals tend to start leaking when they have set,If you're going with BB power I think the cheapest I have seen an engine is about a grand.

Re: opinion needed please?
I'd buy it and finish the truck. Stepside it with xtra wise fenders for the awesome wheels/tires in the rear.

Re: opinion needed please?
depending on interior completeness/ rust/ etc. I would use the front suspension and use the engine if you want to go BB. But be forwarned the bb swap isn't just a drop into our trucks and going to a big block will cost you more for harder to find parts for our truck, (like bb towers, headers that fit, etc) If you would only end up using the front suspension and can get the truck for 100 or so, then I would get it and use the front suspension and sell or part the rest out. You can pick up a complete front disc brake crossmember from a j-yard for anywhere from 50 - 100. If it will cost more than 200 or so for the truck I would leave it be and pass the info on to someone who could really use the truck ( the 74-87 crowd). The friendhsip and aquaintance you make could be worth more than the sum of parting it, your time and aggravation. And no I don't need anything. Just trying to think about the big picture. Just my opinion.

Re: opinion needed please?
If it is as cheap as you say, get it. 454's are getting hard to find.
