my truck started making this wierd clunk rattle noise. when i got home restarted it to see if it was still there and it was, i revved a little and it got worse. i looked under my truck there was a rubber strip like to inches wide on the ground. Towards the back of the engine there was a metal ring with a gap from where that rubber strip was. there were these whole in that ring too. help please?

sorry when i went out to take pictures and this whole thing is in the front right behind the the series of belts. its the thing the timing tag is on top of.

Thats my guess too. Replace that sucker BEFORE you even start that engine again or any internal damage (if any) will only become catastrophic like lunched bearings, crank, yada yada yada.
