here is the step i took painting my flames
the first step was to sand and paint the helment with just dupont met. silver basicaly it was painted with just aluminum with just balance and blender in it to make it sprayable and then take 1/8 th inch tape and tape out the flame and tape up the helment every where but where the flame is and then spray the flame part with a pink met. base let it dry and untape it all but leave the 1/8 th inch tape and then tape up the flame part and paint the rest of helment with a purple met. base and let it dry and untape it now you a helment that is purple with pink flames and a 1/8 th with silver out line around the flames and now take house of color paint color brandy wine Kandy paint and put 4 good coat of it on all the helment and wher the purple is now changes to a burgandy and the pink change to a glow red and the silver out line changes to a liteer red and let it dry and take 1500 grit and sand get all the edge of flames down to you dont feel them and take clear and clear over all of it
