SloMotion Build - Winter Project

Here's a couple of pics of my winter project. It all started because of an ebay air gauge in a factory cluster w/tach. The cluster made the dash look bad, a redone dash made the interior look bad, a new interior made......well, you know how it goes. Obviously it's still a work in progress, but it helps when you can see the "light at the end of the tunnel" (I hope it's not the train!)

Re: Winter project

slo,I likey. What intake is that?I plan on keeping the 250-6 in mine and really like the way that looks. Also what carb and headers?Did you do anything internal to the engine/
BTW love the color and the fact that it's a flatbed.

Re: Winter project

Just a winter project huh? You've done all this so far this winter? Son, you have entirely too much time on your hands.
I have no need whatsoever for a flatbed but I'd like to have one. Somewhat like yours... How bout that pic on the wall in front of the bed in the first pic?

Re: Winter project

Is that a 250 or 292? I noticed your tag, are you a Hee Haw fan or a fan of the band BR 549?

Re: Winter project

Thanks for the encouragement!

The intake is Offenhauser with a 190 Holley carb. The headers are the late version of Tom Langdons units. To make this work the intake has to be modified just a little, but no big deal. The inside is a bone stock 292HD

The picture is of a very proper Brit groom and his best man playing cards while the bride repairs the vintage Rolls. I asked my wife why she couldn't do that and she said 1. "We don't have a Rolls", and 2. "My legs aren't long enough."

I've had the BR 549 plate for years. It started out on a '33 Ford pu, went to a '48 Ford coup, then a 68 short fleet, now the Dually. It's a Hee Haw thing, although I do have a tape of the group too.

I hope when you get it finished you will do a photo shoot that will do that truck justus. That is a lot of work and one slick piece.

Re: Winter project

That just plain kicks ass. I like the fact it's not v8, short fleet, or 1/2 ton and you took the time to make it really nice.

Winter Project II

Here's a couple more pics of the work in progress. The air gauge on the inside bottom right of the cluster started the whole thing. (The rear of the truck is bagged.)
The trans is a WC T5.
Unfortunately, two cows had to give up their hides for the interior.
The fence corner hooks are nickel plated.

I'll put up some more pics in a couple of weeks after I've made some progress

Thanx

Re: Winter Project II

Thank you,
I'm not absolutely sure what the correct name is because the painter had a bunch of lose chips and I just picked one out. It was shot on a dark primer which did alot for the final result. Having said all that, I think it's an '88 Ford color (sorry) called Garnet Red. I don't know the code, but I may be able to find it.
