Tailgate Protector 67-72 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

The one part I've not been able to locate in the last 5-6 years is a tailgate protector for my 70 fleetside. I find plenty for 73 and up but nothing for 67-70. I'm just looking for something for the 'top rim" of the tailgate, not the whole inside panel, but I'd settle for that.

Can anybody suggest a catalog name or online site for this item?

I carry them new for $30, but unfortunatly I am out of them now and will not have them back in for a week or so. I do have a very nice used one that was on a show truck for $20 plus shippig if interested. These are made of stainless Steel and have a smooth finish.

I'm actually leaning towards a polished aluminum diamond plated type. Do you have those?

I have the polished stainless tailgate caps for 35.00 (I'm not sure if thats what you are looking for, it covers just the top of the tailgate)

Putco is one manufacture and also LMC sells these caps for all the way around the top of the bed. You can buy whatever you need as far as the top. Heres Putco's link. http://www.putco.com/common/pricing.php?grp=guard

LMC sells both the stainless smooth and the diamond plated steel ones. I dont remember how much I think maybe $40.
