ebrake cable layout
well i am now trying to hook up the ebrake on my 72 chevy 2wd swb p/u. would you guys be able to tell me how the cable(s) run along the frame & where the cable support rods go on the frame???? iam also having difficulty with reconnecting the cable from the cab to the rest of the cable run(where the nut & curved bracket attach on driver's side) if there might be someones pics available from when they did it that would be a big help as well!!!

I have a 72 parts truck sitting outside with the cab removed I will see if I can grab you a couple of good pics in a few minutes.

well,
let me try this again. i am wondering how to hook up e-brake cables on my '72 swb 2wd p/u. i have the cpp rear disc brake conv. kit & i bought the e-brake cable kit from them as well. has anyone done this same or similar setup & how did you get the cables ran & hooked up??? i seem to be about 4" short of being able to hook everything up. please please help!!!! thanks!!! rodstored-72 |

Not to highjack, nut I need this info as well. I've looked at the diagram in the LMC catalog, but its not that great.

hey guys,
thanks for the info. yea i have the catalog(S) & i basically have it routed ,but i seem to be about 4" short of being able to connect it all. i have replaced the rear with a rear disc brake kit from cpp & i purchased the e-brake cable kit to prevent this, but it seems to not have helped so i was trying to find someone who has done a similar setup to see what they had to do... thanks again! anymore help???? rodstored-72 |

I have the same rear brakes on my 72 short bed and I had to shorten the cable for it to work. I live in Scottsdale if you need to see how I installed the e brake PM me and we could make arrangements for you to look at mine.

thanks for the shot. i tried looking in the assy. manual but didn't find anything yet. i will continue... trying to find something in there without it being marked is near impossible! |
