67 C-20 wheels
I am restoring a 1967 c-20 chassis cab that has a steel bed. The truck ahs the original brake drums that are in good condition, the problem is the truck has original rims that overlap each other (like spilt rims but without the round bar that holds the rim together). My question is what year truck rim do i need to look for to replace this type rim. I have tried a later model dually rim but this rim will not clear the drum. This c-20 truck has dual rear tires. Any help would be apreciated

Re: 67 C-20 wheels
Hmmm...can you post pictures? You have 16" rims, right? And this is a factory C/20 cab & chassis with dual wheel option, correct? Your wheels will be split rims, maybe of a different design than you're used to. So,you want to switch to non-split rims and the wheels you tried didn't clear the front drums, right? Do you know what ear those wheels were from? I had a '70 C/30 dual rear truck w/16" split rims that I bought chrome Budd wheels for in the '80s. They looked to me like any other non-split rim 16" I had seen on '70s-80s trucks. They just bolted on. They had 9/16"lug holes since that's what all the disc brake trucks had from '71-on. You have 7/16" studs, right? some will say you need to switch to 9/16"studs,and that makes sense. But,I just ran the wheels with my stock studs for years, the ended up countersinking bevels for chamfered-type lug nuts to at least hold the wheels centered on the studs...although I honestly never had a problem with flat backed lugs.
