What's involved with my Custom Booster/MC Install?
OK, here's the scoop. I couldn't find a booster/master cylinder that I liked for our trucks so I bought one that cosmetically fit the bill and I am working from there.
It is for the Tri-5 Chevy's, and is really exactly what I have seen for out trucks with the exception of bracketry and connecting to the booster. So, what I need to figure out is what all I am going to have to do and be safe. I currently have a 11" power booster from a 1969 GMC in my truck, and I am taking it out and replacing it with this one (9" single diaphragm) with disc/drum prop valve. From what I read I will have to: •Bench bleed the booster/master cylinder •Make it mount to the firewall •Get the rod connection right •Connect my lines and bleed the full system Is that pretty much it? I don't want want to miss something or screw it up. Thanks. DLB |

I installed a M/C for a vette on a 9" diaphram single. Although I haven't been over 35MPH yet & applied the brakes everything seems to work great. I read somewhere that a 9" single is OK for a small block without a radical cam. but I can't remember where I heard that.
