2020 HDs on the loose...
Well, the long awaited 2020 HD truck re-style is out. While I don't think it's as hideous as the 2019 1/2 ton redesign, it's no 72 either... Vid below states that only the roof is common between the 1/2 tons and the HDs. Regardless of one's personal opinion of the new look - the capabilities are pretty impressive. Personally, while all the bells and whistles are nice, I'm perfectly happy with my old 2001, and it's paid for
FIVE trim levels now.. WT, Custom (new), LT, LTZ, High Country. New 6.6L GAS engine available New 10 speed Allison available, with a PTO! They even offer a reg cab DRW with 35.5K towing capacity. And, of course, it has the Trasnformers tailgate. So, how tough is it? 2020 1972 |

I bet the new High Country will cost as much as 10 new 1972 C20 4x4's. I'm already looking forward to slappin the new 6.6 gas engine in my next project, WOW... this new engine is rated at 401 HP and 465 ft. lbs!

I agree, the engine sounds pretty darn nice. I do think GM made a good call by stuffing the Custom trim level in there. WTs are pretty sparse, the "Custom20" of yesteryear. Having said that, if the new Custom trim level is as expensive as the LT used to be, well, that kinda defeats the purpose. I wonder what a 6.6 gas Custom trim level 2500HD 4x4 goes for... (Regular cab, of course!) |

Yup, that 2020 Chevy HD's are the goofiest looking GM trucks since the '60 Chevy pickups!. The 2020 GMC HD's look really nice though. I am excited about the new 6.6L too.

My biggest issue with new trucks is unless your a starting center in the NBA you can't reach over the box side and pick up something in the box.

Re: 2020 HDs on the loose...
If it had 74 more hp and 5 more lb ft of torque it would be equal to my 392 (6.4) in my Durango SRT. I am not impressed for a HD truck. Chevy needs to compete with what other makes build. Their diesel has super torque, but the 3500 has less tow capacity than the diesel equipped Ford and Ram. JMO

Re: 2020 HDs on the loose...
At some point the competition to see who can tow more is going to have to stop. New trucks can already tow more than most people should. Just because you can tow 36,000lbs doesn’t mean you actually know how. We have a Dodge 3500 at work and the salesmen all had to get a class A CDL before insurance will cover them. The soccer mom in the new truck doesn’t need to drop the kids off at the mall in a mini Peterbilt.

That said, the GMC version looks WAY better, although I'll still be keeping my 2002 HD. The new trucks still cannot match the comfort of those GMT800 seats. |

Re: 2020 HDs on the loose...
Saw my first 2020 3500 HD last Saturday in our town. It was white but the grill was blacked out...everything that is chromed in the OP picture was black on this truck. I was not a fan, it looked cheap to me as if it were an entry level/stripped down model.
