69 3/4 ton
I bought a 69 3/4 ton last night with a supposedly 327ci/325 hp what i would like to know if the cab is the same as my 71 1/2ton. Iam going to use the truck for parts only. are the A frames /power steering/rear fenders/ steering column /stabilizer bars the same. there will be a rolling chassis to give away when i am done if somebody want,s to come and get it. my 71 is a short step the 69 is a long step so the side beds will probably be for sale when i am done stripping it. as alway,s thank you in advance for any help or guidance . P.S. what on the cab will not fit my 71 as in grill/ fenders/ doors. sorry i am keeping the motor BIGLOU55

between 69 & 71 chevy, the pcs should be a direct bolt on. the grills should swap(same fenders). Bumpers/ brackets will be different ,as the 71 has the blinks in the bumper. Other than that, you may find some differences in the wiring harness, & rear cab cushions(1/2 to 3/4 ton). Good luck,crazyL

The suspension components on a 3/4 ton are different (ball joints, tie rods, brakes,etc) but nothing is different in the items you listed.
Regarding the cab, you will have to swap out your 71-style cable throttle linkage to the rod-style linkage on the 69. Look at the firewall where the throttle linkage components are located and you'll see the differences. I have a few left over AZ used sheetmetal pieces here if you need front fenders or radiator supports.

As far as interchange goes, the 69 cab will replace your 71
with no major problems. The throttle cable/rod difference is easily addressed, and you can use the 71 1/2 ton 2WD type rubber mounts. I would suggest using all of your 71 wiring, unless, of course, the 69 has AC, then go with the harness that has the options that you want to add. All front sheetmetal will swap over, also. Rear stepside fenders, I believe, are the same, but, of course the steps are different. Column, P.S. box, sway bar are same. A- frames upper and lower are same, but ball joints, and steering linkage varies from year to year. As far as cabs go, technically, 67 is by itself, as well as 68. 69 & 70, as far as I have determined, are the only identical 2. 71 is a one year only cab, same for 72. They will all swap around, but there are small differences in appearances. The easiest to swap are 67 for 68, 69 for 70, 71 for 72. 69 through 72 are second easiest, with 67 for 72 being the most difficult to make functional. (E-brake, flow through vent, guages, etc. Sounds like you are looking at a fairly easy one.
