Brackets

Are they stepside or fleetside - or does it matter?

Pass

Thanks but I will pass. Price is good but shipping will kill the deal.

Thanks again - Bob Moore

THIS MAKES LOTS OF DEALS CONFUSING, I HAD SOMEONE PM ME 2 HOURS
BEFORE SOMEONE REPLIED TO THE THREAD, IN THE FUTURE "I" WILL MOST
LIKELY CHANGE MY POST SO THAT IT SAYS "REPLY TO THIS THREAD ONLY"
AND ALSO ADD "NO PM'S" OR VICE VERSA, I PERSONALLY HAVE ONLY HAD
THIS HAPPEN TO ME ONCE, BUT I HAVE NOTICED IT HAPPENS ALOT ON THE
BOARD AND SEEMS LIKE IT CAN PISS OTHERS OFF, ANOTHER THING I HAVE
DONE AS OF LATE IS PUT "VTBLAZER HAS FIRST DIBS ON EVERYTHING" IF
HE IS NOT INTERESTED HE REPLIES WITH THE ABOVE IN QUOTES. MY $.02

Replying in the thread should be mandatory. PM's cause alot of grief (just went thru a huge mess over on CK5 because of this). Experienced sellers should mandate this. It's just as fast to respond in the thread.

later,
jakeslim

I agree. All transactions and responses should be on an open forum so there is no confusion. I generally only use PM's when giving up private info like Addresses, phone numbers and stuff like that. I once PM'd someone on a WTB who offered the thread starter a part that he was looking for and basically said that if the person didn't want it than I would. The person who started the WTB thread never replied to the seller so I bought it from him instead. I thought about it afterwards and was wondering if it was wrong but I also didn't want to hijack someone else's WTB thread.

Imho

I prefer PM's and I know I'm not the only one. Why is it many prefer the posts? Posting on interest or question just eats up board space. Right now everyone has various options which is fine by me. Choices are good.

In my opinion posting interest runs up post counts for individuals and brings item back to the top. If I am interested in buying something it is my business and questions and dealings are out of others eye and between myself and seller. Why when buying something would I want something TTT so others would see it again? I see this request by sellers to post interest thats their choice but it also brings it back to surface.... I plan to real soon start selling a little more of my "boxed" stuff and will learn myself how it is to handle this. Only downside to PM's to me are the small size of PM box.

I see the boards as a great communication tool and discussion place. It also allows many of us to buy and sell parts from afar. As we grow, all the one line comments take up space. Just food for thought from my simple world.

PM or Posting

I agree with Cheyenne 10 completely. I like the confidentiality of the PM
and it doesn't bring it to the top. Sometimes you don't want others to know you have an interest and the item may drop off the radar(so to speak).

I'M NOT DISAGREEING WITH ANYONE, READ MY POST, I ALSO SAID THERE
IS THE SAME OPTION VISE A VERSA, I LIKE THE PM SYSTEM ALOT, AND I
USE IT FOR ALOT OF THE PRIVATE INFO, ONE THING THAT CONFUSES ME
IS WHAT IS CAPTIONED ABOVE, IF YOU ARE THE FIRST TO REPLY, IS IT
NOT YOURS, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO CONCEAL INTEREST IF YOU ARE
THE ONE WITH DIBS, (THEY) AREN'T GONNA GET IT IF YOUR THE FIRST
UNLESS YOU DON'T PAY, AND THEN IF YOU FALL THROUGH, THAT POST
MAY HAVE DROPPED BACK THREE PAGES BY THE TIME BOTH THE PM'S
ARE HASHED OUT AND WHEN YOU GO TTT, SOMEONE MAY HAVE BEAT
YOU OUT OF A SALE IF THEY LISTED THEY SAME THING YOU WERE, I'M
NOT COMING DOWN ON U BOB, I'M JUST TRYING TO GET PERSPECTIVE

If the thread starter wants to do a ttt he/she is going to do it anyway, so that is a moot point. It's not up to anybody else to do it. Sometimes I will do it as a courtesy to help somebody sell their item. This is all starting to sound like selfishness to me.
I could be wrong but that's how I see it. This board is about helping each other out not about undercutting everybody to get what you want.
On another note it should be first come first serve in all fairness to all parties involved but that's all up to the sellers own discretion.

Sorry guys but that's my opinion.

following simple instuctions

If anyone cares... there is a sticky at the top of the forums with updated instruction (12/16/04) to sellers and buyers. Josh put these rules in place to eliminate these problems.

I don`t see how replying to a post here is a waste of forum space when this forum is a parts(&vehicles)for sale forum.
