Fire extinguisher location?

First off if you dont have one in your truck you need to get one!

Where do you guys keep yours?

Mine sits on the passenger floor because I do not know where to put it.
When I get different seats and install a blow-through box Ill probably mount it behind the seat, in easy reach but out of view.

Not set on that, thats why I am asking!

Mine sits in the center console. The best thing is for it to be easily accesible! When I worked in mining, it was Federal regs that we had 'em mounted. I mounted a steel bracket behind the driver's-side door jamb with large sheet metal screws and never had a problem. But then, I'm short! Tall guys might have some seat interference...

Anyone interested in this?? It is HALON1211 which is made to be mounted in a small enclosure. I have a extra one that I am going to paint up and mount in my engine bay. Has a head on it that goes off automatically in case of fire. Halon leaves no mess like powder and takes oxygen from the air. I will take $100 shipped. Eric

The fire extinguishers that you show will work maybe!!! If you had a engine fire the chances are slim. A powder extinguisher of that size does not have enough of a rating to even pass code in any state. Minimum is 2A 10:BC The worst part about using powder on a car or truck is that usually it does more damage than the fire. BC powder alone is the worst as it WILL fade your paint if not washed off in less than a hour. I guess faded paint is better than no paint though. Maybe this is just the sellsman in me!!! I work for a fire & safety company!!

Just above the seat.
Another point to consider,
Get one at a welding supply house that has a metal valve assembly 'cause plastic valves may get too hot in the vehicle and not work.

I think when I get mine I will mount it under the drivers seat. Mainly because the botom of the door is at my waist and thats the only coveniant place to get to if needed really fast.

I've mounted mine behind the drivers seat on the cab wall. Handy, I can reach back one handed and remove it.
