hidden or retractable license plate

I’m building a rear roll pan and thinking of using a hidden or retractable license plate. Is anybody using a hidden or retractable license plate on their truck? If so what setup are you using? Could you share some pictures?

I was thinking about this kit.

Thanks

If that is the one that I have seen before, then you would be better off making your own. The one I'm thinking off is all plastic and just plain junk. But I could be confusing it with a different brand.

The one in the video in show N go. It cost about $150 and it looks all plastic. I have never seen one in person. Any other ideas

The brand that I have seen is ALTEC. Not worth the price. Just my opinion.

Re: hidden or retractable license plate

I used this kit on my 32 roadster. Very nice kit, complete with easy instructions and all the hardware to mount it even the license plate light. It runs on vacuum so you need to run a long hose from the front to the back though. Hope that helps.

db65,

Thanks, i like the way the kit works automaticly. Can you manual contol the kit also (for red light cameras) HAHA. Is that your 32 in your profile pic? A 32 ford 3 window is my dream car!

Re: hidden or retractable license plate

Lol, not going to work for the red light cams......takes too long to retract! But it does have a switch but it's for how you want it to operate. You can have it automatic or stay up with the car on and one other I can't remember. Yes that's my roadster. It's a fun car but I should have built a coupe, to many crummy days around here to drive it. But I guess since it's a highboy I couldn't drive it even if it was a coupe without the fenders.
