Torque Specs, Front crossmember???
Does anyone have the torque specs for the lower 6 bolts (3 a side) that connect the front crossmember to the frame. Also need the torque specs for the 8 bolts (4 a side) that connect the front crossmember on the side of the frame.
Thanks in advance!!! Alex

Re: Torque Specs, Front crossmember???
One grunt...not two. I used the same chart as above and it tightned down nicely. Make sure you use grade 8's! I was going to use stainless till I started thinking about how it would all go horribly wrong if that fell off whilst driving.

...just had to quote you so that pic was in the thread twice! That looks great! I don't want to do that with mine, but I'll probably end up doing it anyway! Well, it didn't work...oh well Last edited by Sequoyah; 10-10-2007 at 10:07 PM. |

Re: Torque Specs, Front crossmember???
I have to agree with the "toss in an extra really" comment, this isn't something where the the torque specs matter however, I know it's probably a long shot on it happening, but looking at the photo of the frame, I'd run the bolts with the nuts on the bottom. If by chance all six nuts loosened up, the bolts would fall right out and there goes the front. If the bolts were reversed, it would be loose but wouldn't come out from under the truck. But, it's probably not something that would ever happen.

Re: Torque Specs, Front crossmember???
Bolts ain't comin' loose once I torque them down, and they came this way from the factory.
And in that case.....maybe I should turn the U bolts over that hold the lower control arm on ...so when the nuts fall off, yeah right....LOL!!!
