Well what do you know.... I'm a 67-72 owner again!

Made the deal with my Brother tonight. Bought my 68 Stepside back. I don't have a recent pic, but it's all flat black now. 406/TH350/3.73 open rear. 2.5" drop on the front, discs. Looking forward to driving it again!

These trucks are evil. I was glad to get rid of it when I sold it, but it didn't take long for me to regret selling it. I guess part of that might have been seeing it at my brother's house all the time. I need to work on tuning the engine, then I can drive it this summer!

It's always sweet when you get the chance to buy back something you regret selling.

you need to post up a picture of it all done up in flat black. I'm really wanting to paint my truck that color so I'd like to see what yours looks like.

Don't have any big plans right off Brian. I need a p/s pump and brackets but I'm sure I'll be able to find those on the parts board. It's pretty much driveable, just need to swap out the front tires (which I have already) and re-tag it. I'll probably just drive it this summer and tear into it over the winter. I have a set of 4" rear drop springs, and an adjustable panhard bar to install. I also plan on saving up for a rear disc brake kit, as it has no rear brakes right now

Nah. I replaced the tie rods when I did the disc swap. The ball joints aren't fantastic, but they're not shot either. I think the death rattle came from really bad tie rods and a bad pitman arm on the manual steering box (which is also gone now). I also have a new idler arm to put on it, which should be pretty easy.

It drives straight and true without any vibrations now.

Re: Well what do you know.... I'm a 67-72 owner again!

I know the feeling, I just sold several of my trucks and project vehicles. The wife wants me to finish the basement work I started some time ago, and I certainly will. But, as soon as the last '67 - '72 was gone, I was already starting to look around!

Gotta' have my !

Welcome back to the 67-72 side of things! When I've sold vehicles to family/friends I told them if they sell I better get first dibs, that way if I regret it I can buy it back. Looks like you have the same Idea.

I did find one more pic after I got it all flat black. It hasn't really changed since this pic.

Re: Well what do you know.... I'm a 67-72 owner again!

It's home now. I forgot I had installed the van side markers on it before I sold it. It's the same old truck I remember, two pumps and bump the switch. Someone broke the antenna off while it was in storage, so the radio works, but doesn't pull in stations. Not a big deal. My taillights are on their way from Wyoming (thanks Dennis!), so I should have it on the road by the end of the week. I have a lot of bugs to sort out, but I'm actually looking forward to it. I guess going almost 2 years without a project has charged me back up
