Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks

Not trying to jack thread but who makes a flip kit for these trucks? Is there a difference between a reg 1500 flip kit and a 454ss?

If you google it you will find a s@@tload of companies (belltech, mcgauhy's (sp), djm, western chassis) to name a few. And as far as I know there is no difference for the rear. There might be a difference in the frot as far as springs due to engine weight.

5/8 drop on 20's. These were all right after I went from a 3/4 drop to the 5/8. I need to get some better shots.

Nice truck! Those the Boss 338's?

Here's a couple more pics of my truck above after I sold it. Just happened to run into the guy at Cruisin' the Coast. Totally different look!

this tuck on a 5/8 drop with 20s looks real nice.
does this require modification of the fender wells?

if so can you send some pictures of what was needed?

Can't recommend a kit, but the 454SS uses the 9.5" semi-floater, axle tubes are a good bit larger than the stock 10-bolt, so look for that when you get ready to flip it.

Thanks man, I was always a fan of yours. Yep, 338's. 8.5s in the front 10s in the rear.

Thanks! I have the black spoke 338's on my '97 Tahoe, but they were already installed when I got it. They're 18x8 all around. Wish they had better backspacing for the front, but it works for now. I might go for a staggered setup like yours once it's time for new tires.
