Rear end cover
As it sits right now I have a 68 c-10 with what I assume to be the factory rear end in it. It has an aluminum over sized finned cover on it. My issue is the track bar is hitting the cover and I haven't even bolted the bed down let alone drove the truck yet. Is it really necessary to have the big cover or will a stock style work just as it was supposed to? I have the adjustable track bar as it is I just don't really want to order a bent bar to clear the cover if I can just swap it out for stock and not spend the extra money. This truck Has destroyed my bank account in the engine alone. Saving a buck wouldn't hurt my feelings right now.

Re: Rear end cover
If your truck is lowered in the rear then a bent bar works quite well to center the axle back up and give plenty of clearance for a cover as thick as a 12- bolt girdle like this. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/m...gaAppfEALw_wcB You can also gain some clearance by adding a stack of washers behind the bar on the stud located on axle housing. I did both, bent my bar and added enough 3/4" washers to allow a full nut on the stud. Plenty of clearance to remove the girdle cover. Jacking up the rear and placing jack stands under the frame allowing the axle to drop will give clearance as well...

Re: Rear end cover
You need the deluxe bar from CPP.

Re: Rear end cover
The CPP bar will work, but you will have to extend it and bend it. I know this from practical experience. Here are some pics of mine before and after modifications.
Pic 1. the original CPP bar. You'll notice it fits, but you can't remove the cover without removing the bar. Not a great way to do it. Pic 2 same bar, extended re-bent and painted black.

Re: Rear end cover
Put the stock cover on and forget about it . You already have an adjustable bar save your money .
