best roll-on bedliner?

What would you guys recommend for a good roll on bedliner? I've heard people talking about Herculiner and some others. I'm kind of cheap, so I dont want to get it sprayed.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

I used Herculiner inside the tub of my 75 Jimmy, it worked ok. It's not great, in my opinion.it is fairly light duty, you can see lots of dings and scrapes.
it does however, absolutely look $100 better. it is fine for my beat up old plow truck, I wouldn't put it in anything nice.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

Spray it yourself with the Upol Raptor. Great product and a great price. Just practice spraying on a big piece of cardboard, then hit the bed.

Look at Raptor. It comes black or you tint it any color(up to 10%).Its about 100 bucks on Amazon.Kit comes with a gun,its sprayed. Its very user friendly, prep and masking is bulk of work.I was very pleased.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

At the same stage on my truck and have been looking/researching threads on the forum.

Considering using Hammerite as a bed liner for it's durability, even though it's not really a bed liner.

I put bed liner in my truck three years ago (Gator) and after a year, it was peeling and bubbling.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

I used Raptor and had it tinted to match my Challenger. I bought a $20 undercoat gun and sprayed the underneath myself. Easy peasy

I used this on a newer truck I had. it had some cushion to it and was durable. I did spray it. but it was pretty easy
raptor is good to just not nearly as thick

Thanks for all the comments. I think I'm leaning towards the U-pol raptor.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

also sub'd. For any of those that have used a product and have a recommendation for (or suggest avoiding) it, can you post a pic? I'm very interested in a tintable, not even for my '68, but for my wrangler as well. All the Rhino and Line-X shops around here only spray black.

I work at a body shop paint and supplies store, we sell the Raptor kit. Great product, and we have not had any complaints. User friendly.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

Did the herculiner on my truck. This is one gallon. could use another quart or so. by the gallon is 100. quarts are 30. I think it turned out awesome!! It is so much better than it was. I can see it scraping off if you get loads of scrap metal or heavy rock, but other than that you shouldn't have a problem. Plus, if it scrapes off repair is easy! Like I said, 30 dollars for a quart.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

My friend used the duplicolor stuff on the inside of his jeep and I really didn't like it. soft, seemed flimsy. Not gritty at all. Smelled like a latex paint while the herculiner smelled more like tar

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

have any of you guys had trouble with these roll-on liners not being UV stable? I'm in the Jeep scene and ran into a guy that had bed-liner'ed his fenders and lower half of the tub. I don't know what he used, but he said he followed all the prep instructions and a couple years later it's hard, brittle and chipping. it looks like the stuff just deteriorated rapidly due to not being UV stable.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

I have herculiner in my bed and I don't have a garage so it's outside all the time and it hasn't hurt it. My bed has been done about 2 yrs now.

I used Upol Raptor and rolled it on. Looks great, used the tintable type and had it tinted olive like truck.
Great stuff.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

I used Herculiner on the bike I built last year. I wanted something that wasn't easily scratched. Shines up real nice with a little armour-all.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

I agree with the herculiner is good but its pretty light duty, had a jeep rear end in the back of my trucks and it scared it pretty good.

Re: best roll-on bedliner?

I used Herculiner on my GMC at least 5 years ago. Very durable and holding up well. My GMC is definitely worked pretty hard carring loads of firewood car parts and even moved my shop 2 years ago. The downside it is not UV stable over the long haul and is starting to whiten a bit.
