Pully Question
Are these trucks known to have pullys that don't line up or is it just my truck?
Is there any east way to fix this? Thanks, Paris

You probably have mis matched stuff. If it is by just a little, you can use washers to make up the diff.

It is not unusual for trucks to have misaligned pulleys. Some one could have pulled the balancer and not got it all the way on, or put in on further than it was originally. Also, a lazy rebuilder might have remanufactured your water pump not pressed the shaft in far enough or too far. You can buy shims for the water pump pulley easily.

More than likely, it's your balancer, when it isn't set right, it makes the rest of the belts line up crooked. Sometimes you got to slam the thing way in, or pull it way out to get evrything right.

Thanks for the info......
Fast, I have it tore apart and it probably won't go back together for a while. [This message has been edited by 1972c10_ohio (edited April 06, 2002).]
