Bbw vs sbw

Am I the only one who likes the small back window better than the big? Just wondering

Re: Bbw vs sbw

I like the small back window on my C10 because it allows me to add yet another Factory Accessory to my truck ( Rear Sliding Cab Window ).

I'd like to have the Full View Rear Window (FVRW ) for better vision while plowing snow with my K10! You could order a Rear Sliding Cab Window for the Full View through your truck dealer from Barbers Auto Glass in the Truck Silver Book.

Yep, the small window trucks were more numerous in California. The large rear window just made the interior a greenhouse most of the year.

Having put some miles on my '66 lately I can confirm this!! I'm considering tinting the back window as you can cook with the sun coming in the back combined with the vinyl seat.......swamp butt!!

Re: Bbw vs sbw

i have a bbw short bed gmc and i think the bbw look better. if you look at the back of the small window cab it is made for the big window. to me it looks like they decided to be cheap and just put a small window in it. the 55-57 chevy trucks are the same way. but if a 63-66 truck came along that was really nice i would't care if it was a small window i just like these trucks

SBW hides the bald spot on the back of my head! Didn't know that you could get a slider for it either. Where do you find those?

i love my little window on my truck. I think the big windows are sought after more by collectors usually with alot of money and not much brains to us enthusiasts we just like the truck period and everything about it

I Love the Small window,But i also prefer long bed's I think they look better slammed . But i do think a big window looks better on a short bed, guess im just weird ,but on the bright side i get my small window longbeds for dirt cheap compared to big window short beds.!!

Re: Bbw vs sbw

I've always thought the big back window makes the truck look more modern.
Same with the fleetsides.

I think the small back window along with the stepside just makes the truck look more classic. - That's just me.

Re: Bbw vs sbw

The big window is rare, which makes it highly desirable to collectors and those that prefer the style. Considering the majority of 60-66 trucks came with the small window cab, it would seem the small window was in fact more popular at least with original owners.

I appreciate that others love the big window, but the sculptured small window back of cab panel is part of the character I love about these trucks. If my truck had been built with a big window, I wouldn’t have bought it.

Years ago I had a 1983 Chevy truck and detested being roasted during the summer months.

Here's an earlier thread on the topic, with an even earlier thread shown on post # 2.

Well I like both! That being said, I just sold the small window truck because I just bought a bbw Custom cab truck.

I like the small window cuz it keeps the sun off my neck a little, and working outside a lot I can use all the shade I can get. Plus the big windows look a little funny to me......but then again, I prefer a long bed too.....maybe I'm just the weird one.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's because those who like the big window may have a hard time finding a big back window. They have a nice truck and want the big back window. So they do the conversion.

Those who like the small back window have no need to do the conversion from big to small, because there's so many more available. If they want a small back window truck, they just buy a small back window truck. No need to go to effort to convert.
