Projects.....Then and now & before and after
I follow a lot of threads like a lot of us do. I'm interested to see your oldest pics of your vehicles and where your at now. Doesn't matter about condition or in what stage of progress your at. Good, bad or indifferent.....share your project pics of then and now. Even if its done, lets see the before and afters. Saw where Markeb01 did a slideshow of his truck and all the different changes from start to finish, so figured it'd make a good thread. I also hope that it helps keep people motivated as we've lost some members this year when projects sat to long or progress wasn't as fast as owners wanted. So don't give up and keep up the progress and updates with pictures!!!
Then: I'll start it off with my 63 short step side c-10. I lost the motherboard on the computer that had all of my original pics when I got this truck, but other than the hub caps and new tires being added in this picture, its as I got it in late 2009. 230 / 3 speed column shift / 12 bolt Now: Front end just rebuilt last 2 weeks and interior is a work in progress. Hoping to install engine/trans tonight. A lot of factory options have been added since 2009. 427 and HD manual 3 speed going in (hopefully tonight) and still has the stock 12 bolt (converting it to a posi). So theses are my two pics of then and now. I'm interested to see others progress, although mine looks like I'm going forward in reverse.....but I know mines not the only work in progress.

Mine also looks like it is going backwards. August 2012 vs today:
Of course, other areas do show improvement:

Re: Projects.....Then and now & before and after
When I bought the '63 in 2008:
And the way it sits now, unfortunately: The lack of forward movement has been extremely upsetting for me. In the past 5 years I have gone through all sorts of crap that prevented me from doing much. A bogus criminal case, breaking a foot, injuring an arm and a bankruptcy because good lawyers are very expensive. Things have finally started looking up this year and I have a goal of getting the chassis of my truck done within a year.

Re: Projects.....Then and now & before and after
Very cool. Nice progress guys!!!! Thanks for posting and sharing pics guys. Doesn't matter about condition as most trucks here are works in progress. My 63 looked much better when I got it, but there was a lot hiding under the paint. I have since added some oem panels, so its mismatched, but the truck is now more solid. Just nice to see where we started and where we're at currently. So don't let it stop you from posting pics!!!

Re: Projects.....Then and now & before and after
I'll toss my 63 short fleet into the mix also. This one was also originally a 230 / 3 speed manual / 12 bolt truck
Was a complete basket case when myself, a forum buddy (Bluebomber) and a buddy arrived in March 2014 down to SC. And as it sits now with this pic being taken Saturday night. Currently has been converted to a factory auto set up from manual. And has a 348 big block in the mock up stage that will be backed by a powerglide. Still collecting parts to make it a complete truck again. But again....a work in progress.

Re: Projects.....Then and now & before and after
Here's my 66 C20. Day I brought it home, and how it sits now. Work in progress is exactly what it is. I have replaced the entire drivetrain from the front crossmember with all new wearable parts (disk brakes and power steering are awesome), the engine (from 350 to 454 with serpentine belt), automatic trans (from SM420 to TH4000, rear axle (from HO52 to 14 bolt with 3.21 gears). All that is done and can now move on to interior and body work. Have done some of that, but lots to go. Tilt steering column installed and moved forward for better driving position, new gas pedal with throttle cable instead of linkages, new bed wood, Rustoleum paint just to cover primer and make it all one color, frame painted, and many other odds and ends. Good driveway therapy after a divorce.

2 years, been a struggle at times.was missing engine, radiator, fuel tank and seat. Poor thing had two 16" wheels, one 15" wheel and one 14" wheel along with 1984 South Dakota Plates. Now runs and is very close to being able to drive.

Re: Projects.....Then and now & before and after
ls60apache.....
Thanks. My trim is a mixture of several years. The back cab trim and sails are 1960, the window trim is 60-63 GMC as you noted and the front windshield trim is the wider 60-61 version. I know its not 63 correct, but I think it pulls it off good being that its all factory for the cab application. And the trim lines match really good. There is a set of the 60-63 GMC trim on ebay I saw last night if anyone else is wanting any. And not that bad to install. Your project looks great!!!
