One Piece Drive Shaft - 72 long bed

Has any one tried using a 1 piece drive shaft with a long bed with a 700R4 tranny?

I need a new drive shaft either way, running a mild 350 CI (250hp, 320 tourque), 12 bolt 3.73 posie rear end. Shaft would measure 71.5" from knuckle to knuckle.

would love to hear good news and bad news from those who went one piece.

thanks, Jeff

do not use one piece drive shaft in lwb. When you load your truck or hit a hump in the road at speed and make the rear end travel much it will hit in the frame loop and bend it.been there done that years ago.

it can be done, but you'll spend a lot of money for an inferier piece. Just get your stock shaft cut down and new U joints and a good carrier bearing and get it ballanced. Tell the drive shaft shop that it is now for an overdrive aplication too.
