I've got my eye on an 84 C20 4x4 LWB locally. Body on a scale of 1 - 10 would be rated a 5 by me. Some surface rust in places, but not all the way through - just bubbles. The bed is solid, wheel wells are completely intact. Rockers have a tiny bit of surface rust as do the cab corners. Engine & tranny rebuilt 30k miles ago... has 4.10 gears w/ Posi 350ci engine, dual exhaust, etc. Interior is immaculate. Owner said the truck has never been off-roaded. He just used it to drive back and forth from work. The paint is what I would call a basic brown.... nothing fancy. But doesn't look bad. Seems to be original. He's asking $2750, but I'm thinking of offering somewhere in the $2300-2500 range tomorrow. Does that sound like a fair deal based on the description I've given? Seems to be a solid truck overall.

PS - 72 C10 (as my Screen Name implies, has been sold for about 8 months... time to get back into 'classic' chevy's!)

Dont know what prices are like where you're from, but around here that is a great price... Too bad about the rust, but it sounds to be the only downside to the whole deal.. What kind of transmission/transfer case? Probably a th350/np208.

may sound kind of odd coming from me, but what you're looking at is not a C20, its a K20. C10/20/30s are 2wd, K10/20/30s are 4wd. yes, at the moment my 86 is a C10 LWB, with a 79 K10 SWB donating its chassis in the garage. that price sounds about right if you described it acurately. im gonna bet that trans and transfer case are TH350C and an NP208.

Got the truck. It actually has a TH400 behind it... crawled under tonight just to check it out. Transfer case - I don't know. Where would I check? Another good find was the Weiand (sp?) aluminum intake, what looks to be 1½" headers (or maybe 1 5/8), 8mm plug wires, fresh air cleaner & platinum plugs! The guy was nice enough to throw in a brand new CD deck he also intended on installing but never got around to.

Now if only I could figure out how to get the darn radio knobs off the factory deck..... *time to search*

I pulled on those knobs pretty hard and they didn't budge. I stopped because breaking something would not be good. Guess I'll try again???
