wiring harnesses
I was wondering is you guys/gals have found any place that builds a wiring harness to your specs for a realistic price? i know painless builds a harness for our trucks but i have modified my harnes to work for me..... so i am looking for someone who will build me a new harness with new type fuses (blade type) and be able to hook up to everything i need.
Thanks a lot Rat

What is so specific about your truck? I would think the generic harnesses would encompass most of what you could put in these trucks.

i built my own gauge cluster and did some other things with elimenating wires and adding new ones on, almost all of my truck has been changed in one way or another... its going to suck if anything goes wrong i have to remember where the part came from........ as i see it the new harness are almost a stock replacement and i dont want to go through the hassle of making everything work with the stock harness and still have wires that arent being used.

You can get one of those all purpose fuse blocks and then you make your own wires. Any you don't want to use, you don't. No extra wires. With the others, if you have extra wires, then just cut them off. The all purpose ones are pretty cheap since you have to do most of the work.

If you use a later model GM column you can get a Painless "universal" kit that wires up with aftermarket gauges. I used one in my 1930 Model A and loved it. Yesterday I received my new Painless kit for the stepside and started wiring right away. If you tell them what you're doing they may be able to help you out.
