removing stainless trim from winshield and rear window.

IM HAVING A NEW WINDSHIELD AND REAR WINDOW INSTALLED. I WOULD LIKE TO REMOVE THE STAINLESS TRIM AND POLISH IT UP BEFORE THE WINDOW GUY GETS HERE. IS IT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE TRIM WITHOUT REMOVING THE WINDOWS? IS THE TRIM REAL STAINLESS OR PLASTIC AND DOES IT POLISH?

Talking

The easiest way to remove the stainless trim is with the seal out. It hooks into the rubber seal and can be damaged when removing it, otherwise. With the seal out you can "peel" the rubber away from the chrome.

It is real stainless and will polish up very nicely.

I KIND OF THOUGHT THAT. MAYBE ILL JUST BUFF IT OUT WITH SOME POLISH AND THE DREMMEL WHILE ITS STILL ON, AND JUST WIPE IT OFF WITH SOME CLEANER WHEN THE GUY REMOVES THE GLASS. IM REPLACING THE GASKETS ANYWAYS SO ITS NO BIG DEAL IF THE DREMMEL OR POLISH MESSES UP THE GASKET.

Cut the gasket out if you are going to replace it anyway. Just another option.

if you're replacing the gaskets anyway i'd suggest just cutting the old gasket off from the inside of the cab and poping the windows out well b-4 the window guy arrives ,that will give you a chance to polih up the trim and to cleanup the windowframe area, old silicone, tar ,glue, bubblegum ,you might be surprised what some people force in these gaskets to seal the leaks
that way when he comes to install the new glass you'll have a nice clean mounting surface and shiney trim all ready to go without wasting his time $$$$$
