Hey Guys, Every little step and progress that is made is a thrill so I thought I'd share my budget Booster refurbish. I bought it on ebay and then soda blasted it to bare metal. Then rattle canned a primer coat and topped it with Rustoleum's hammered finish gold paint. I didn't want to spend the money on having that cadium finish and am really happy with the way it came out.
Anyone know where I can get a new rubber boot that goes towards the firewall. Can you also get a new vacuum plug?

Get the vacuum plug (check valve) in the HELP section at autogroan.

Well I do believe I may have found a source.....Chevy Duty part # 71-298 for $6.95 called Power brake push rod boot.

Looks sweet, real nice job! Wish I could find a source for the silencer (felt) that goes inside that boot.

The boot shown in the picture is not correct. I bought and tired the same boot when I basically did the same thing as you. After I got it I found it wasn't right. I reused my old boot and made a new silener / filter out of a piece of foam

Wait a sec, your booster looks a fuz different where the boot attaches. Maybe that will work on that booster?

Do you have a close up of the sleeve where the boot goes on?

That is the wrong boot for the hole in the firewall. The boot pictured above goes in the spot where the black section is on the 'firewall' side of the booster in pic #5. I have never been able to find the boot that goes in the hole of the firewall to make a seal on the rod from the brake pedal.

Here is a close up of the booster back where the rubber boot goes. I have not tried yet...but I believe the rusted ring must un-screw or pop off. Then the rubber boot would go on and rusty ring holds the boot in place???

Well I was sort of right. The rusty ring does come off and holds the boot in place but does not screw off. It is just pressed on and has no threads. I put a set of channel locks on it and turned it to the left thinking it had threads. It came right off easily but has no threads. You know I'm going to sand it down and paint it...don't cha??? Here is a pic of it removed:
