Couldn't wait...
... to put the stepside bed together, so I went and bought the bed that went with the cab I swapped on to the 71. Also, got the rear bumper. The donor truck was a 1970 C20 custom camper. I might get the hitch also.

I actually went and looked at the bed for Richard Morgan, but the guy wouldn't seperate the floor from it(he only needed the floor). It had been in the back of my mind for a couple weeks. The truck still sits high in the back with the bed on. Where it's at the front tires are higher than the back but it has about 2"+ of rake front to rear. I might try and lower the rear an inch or raise the front an inch. Probably lower the rear with a 3" block and get rid of the 4" block.
Forgot only paid $300 for the bed and rear bumper w/ brackets, lights, tailgate and wiring harness. Still have to get the tailgate.

Dean, On the outside, the cab has a little surface rust to fix and paint the top. On the inside of the cab, the kick panels need some work, not much. The front blue fender needs a repair to the lower rear. Need to polish the grill. Drivetrain is good. Need to replace the wheel cylinders. Also have to replace the front driveshaft u-joints. It's on the road and I have been driving it. I'm actually very pleased, getting the bed on really moved it forward on the progress scale.

Adam, I'm not sure, I have everything but the wood. One side does need some work while the other is ready to go. I plan on getting it together and maybe put it on the GMC as it's bed will be in worse shape.

Were you able to sell the flatbed or did you finally just haul it all to the scrapyard?
