Some Dana 44 questions
I just picked up a 71-72 dana 44 from diane and ken (1970Blazin) for $25. I want to replace the closed knuckle dana 44 i've got now. Now for the questions. First, the new axle has a 3.07 ratio gearing, and i know mine are lower (though I haven't figured out what ratio I actually have). So can i swap the gears out of my older dana into the new one? And also can i swap the selectable hubs over? Thanks guys. Kevin

the gears will but I am not 100% sure the hubs will. On my truck, the closed knuckle drum braked dana 44 has very large external hubs marked "Hub-Lok" (these are OE), but mine is a 3/4 ton version. As far as I know, all of the disc braked 44's have internal (smaller) hubs. However, I could be wrong here.
