Just Curious, Top gear at 25mph?
I'm just curious,
Does anyone else here shift into top gear at 25 mph? I'm running a 305/350 (350 recently rebulit) on 15" wheels. ('70 C-10)/

i do and it runs at about 1200 rpm with a six cylinder

I do, gas is too high... 373s out back and I run about 11-1200.

Are you refering to your tranny shifint on it's own too soon?
I'm normally still in first at 25 MPH myself, I have mine set to shift at about 30 MPH into second. If you are describing an actual problem, i would look at the kick down cable either being way out of adjustment or not hooked up. It controlls down shifting when needed to accelerate, and also 'holds' first and second for accelerating too even if no down shift was involved. |
