Weird Snap-On tool

Anyone ever seen a tool like this?

Ebay listing

I have this same vintage Snap On tool, but I was never sure of what it is. I don't think this guy knows either. I can only guess it is for adjusting valves, and I have actually adjusted valves with it before. But I was never sure of what it really is. ????

That is so cool. Thanks, I never thought to check out the patent like that. So I was right that it's a valve adjusting gizmo, and now have the patent to confirm it.
