Looking for 69-72 2wd Blazer

I am sure that you guys hear this a lot. But, I figure this would be the best place to ask. Most of the ones I see are already re-done and they want just shy of a new car. I understand they are worth money...but...jeeez oh Pete. I am about ready to go start knocking on Mid-western "old-ladies" doors to find one...haha

Anyways, any help from the "gurus" would be helpful.

I am new to this site, by the way <bow> and glad to be a part
of such a site...

Thanks in advance for any help.

Lenny

2wd Blazers are few and far between. You just have to keep your eyes open and watch all the places they might be for sale. This board is a great place to watch as they pop up here every now & then. Also keep an eye on http://www.collectorcartraderonline.com/ & e-bay. Good luck and let us knw when you find one.

IF these Blazers are so rare, and so desirable. then why are they not worth so much more? i see peolpe looking for them, but they sell for reasonable prices. I just got mine for a very good deal, unrestored ofcourse, and i think its one of the newest forms of hotrods out there! just curious

2wd blazer production numbers

1970 985 1969 4x4 only4935
1971 1277 1970 4x4 11527
1972 3357 1971 4x4 17220
2wd 1972 4x4 44266

Thats why 2wds are hard to find . Now subtract 2 70 2wds i had both for parts and they were wrecked beyond fixing. Even had a 70 2wd jimmy for parts.dont know how rare that is . I have had my 70 2wd for 19 years and wont be for sale -ever.

I agree. Production numbers are good to have available.

I wish I could find production numbers for GMC's, I just bought a '70 2wd Jimmy and don't have a clue as to how many were built.

My Funk & Wagnals on trucks indicates the 70 was the first year for the Jimmy model with 121,833 total production. There was no indication how many were 2wd units. But the overall indication is that about 7% (8,528) would be the approx number produced.

The production figure I gave was for the entire Jimmy Production for the Calendar year.

The % given reflects the amount usually done for the 2wd blazer.

These were from the 3rd Edition of the American Light-Duty Trucks. Covers everything from 1896-2000

I will try and find my books, we just moved. If I remember right there were less than a 1000 produced each year starting in 1970.

There is no way they made 121,833 Jimmys in '70. They only made 11,527 Blazers in 1970. Production numbers for the Blazer were much higher than the Jimmy.

Larry, how much are you asking? Is it an original 2wd or a conversion?
