URGENT help in alberta
The 3 speed tranny went on my truck and I need a new one by monday I am also looking at the option oh putting a 4 speed in as well so if any one in Alberta has a standard 4 speed or 3 speed please let me know the 4 speed would have to be out of either a malibu camara Trans am firebird, or so Im told

i have an old 3 in the tree tranny from my 69 GMC 1/2 ton is that what ur lookin for u think? if not sorry i wish i could help

I have a th350 a th400 and a 4 speed manual from behind a 250 I-6. Im 45 minutes southwest of edmonton.

I have a 4 speed as well requires high bump came outta my 67 when I put in the saginaw(car) tranny, Avoid the saginaw if you can , they wont take much power, im on my 2nd in 6 months!

My granny 4 speed is original and was bolted up to the original I6 250, I have the same tranny bolted up to a 1968 283 now, later Doug

If you switch from the 3 speed to the 4speed the hole in the bellhousing is smaller for the 3spd so you may need bellhousing as well.

If you need help ID'ing ratios, etc., go to www.dandltransmission.com
Saginaws came with several low-gear ratios. The 3.11 ones came in some 6-cylinder cars in the '60s, & in '73-'74 Vegas. 3.50's came in some of the late '70s Vegas & clones (Monza, etc.). My '72 Nova came with a 2.54, but I changed it to a 3.11 years ago. With the stock 10.4" clutch, I have had no problems with it, even with a 350 engine. I wouldn't subject one to abuse, because they're not real strong, but I'll probably put one in my truck in the near future, probably column-shifted with a separate lever for reverse. |

I've got a 3 spd you can have. Just removed it last weekend and it worked well. Out of a 68 GMC. I6.
