I'm no expert but I would say to check your grounds and also make sure that there is a good connection going to the switch.

I'm trying to remember exactly. Follow your brake pedal up under the dash and there is going to be a switch that your pedal actually touches when it is pushed in. Look around the pedal assembly. When you push in the pedal it activates the switch and turns on your brake lights. Someone might be able to post a pic to show you exactly where it is at but I do not have one.

FYI there is 2 wires on switch. orange & white. O is from fuse box. W goes to turnsignal switch.
do both lights act funny? also check connector on drivers side frame near bumper. they get corroded inside. Y - left stop-turn, G - right stop-turn, brown - tail, green - backup. it all grounds through light housing. do any other lights act funny? ground cable from batt. to rad. support. any further Q's, I am happy to help

I'd also recommend checking that the switch is not loose. There is a nut there, similar to the ones on the shafts of AM/FM cassette decks, that should help you make sure the switch is in the right position. Find it and mess with it, it may be the solution!

I had to run another ground wire from the body to the frame to get mine to stop flickering.

check the brake light switch. it looks something like this (uninstalled of course) and will be mounted adjacent the top of the brake pedal.
once you get underneath the dash, you should see it.
