1 piece driveshaft?
Can a 67 longbed, stock with 2 piece driveshaft - be converted without problems to a 1 piece? I have it lowered 5 -6 inches in the back.

I have seen long beds with 1 piece DS. Dont know how safe it is, I would think it would have to be perfectly balanced. Also with the 5-6" drop, you may have problems with the DS hitting the middle crossmember.

driveshaft
I'm getting ready (ok, in a month or so) to do the same thing. I'm going to try it.

As long as you have someone that is qualified to do the driveshaft build it, you should be fine. I've had mine for 5 years now and haven't had a problem.
A couple things to note: 1) A driveshaft that long is going to be large and clear the hoop by not a whole lot on either side. 2) Oftentimes the exhaust will come close to the driveshaft. Just make sure that you plan for this. At the moment Early Classic offers an "extreme drop crossmember" that may take care of a variety of problems

I saw a new crossmember available at brotherstrucks.com that might be what you need it's supposed to be the hot ticket for drop's like that and 1 piece driveshafts....seemed kinda salty if I remember right though?
