Is there a difference between Goodmark and offshore boxsides???
I ordered a set of 6ft Goodmark boxsides from a local supplier. I go and pick them up today and low and behold, they are NOT Goodmark.
He assures me they are stamped out of the same metal and the same dies used by Goodmark(in taiwan) Is this true?? Should I just use these ones,or take them back and get the Goodmark ones?? Thanks Deuce.

Goodmarks are off shore... Goodmark does not stamp their own parts. Some comes from Taiwan and some from Canada. I don't know of any from USA though. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

I called Chris @ Goodmark and he did confirm they get their stuff from taiwan.
What I am curious about is if they are superior to the "other" taiwan boxsides?? Deuce

I don't know. It is my understanding that there is a conglomeration of 5 companies making these chevy parts over there. Some good some bad. I think that Goodmark offers a pretty good warrentee though. However I have seen some Goodmark parts that I wouldn't sell to my worst enimy... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

So pretty much it's just the luck of the draw??
These look pretty good, but it's going to be a while if I know if they fit or not.

I can understand why you would be angry. If I were selling you the bedsides and I told you Goodmark, then Goodmark would be what you received. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Deuce there is only one manufacturer of the 68-72 SWB bedside, Goodmark pays that manufacturer to put theirs in a box with their name on it, occasionally I know the manufacturer runs out of Goodmark marked boxes when preparing to ship to Goodmark and then they use boxes with the manufacturers name on it that they use when shipping the exact same bedsides to other manufacturers and Goodmark then slaps a Goodmark sticker on the box when it arrives ( Though we have received a couple that never got Goodmark stickers on them from Goodmark so sometimes their labeling/boxing crew in shipping slips and lets some by unlabeled Goodmark ). So even though the box does not say Goodmark on it, it is the exact same bedside as one in a box that does say Goodmark on it.

Is there a brand name made in US something like Tampco, or Tapico or something similar to this. Seems like at some swap meets I have seen truck sheet metal parts and they were marked made in USA.

Tabco is the name your trying to think of, they are a USA manufacturer of sheet metal, & they also sell to the public as a retailer though their doors, fenders, & several other large parts are made overseas by the same one Goodmark & others use. Besides Taiwan they also purchase a few of their parts from a couple of other USA manufacturers and of course they make several of their own.
We found their rockers and cab corners to be made on worn out tooling with a poor fit in my opinion, where as they make a great floor sections and supports. GMCPaul |

My understanding that Goodmark is usually the better choice for fit.
I had a radiator support that had the blind nuts welded on the wrong side. Contacted Goodmark who in turn checked out the problem. They found there was a problem. They contacted me again and sent a new one at no charge. So needless to say I would buy from them again.

Thanks for your input GMCPaul!!!!!
I guess I'll just keep what I've got if I'm only going to get the same parts in a different box.
