vented cap/tank in 68??

Hi Guys,

Should the fuel cap or tank be vented in the 68 pickup.

I broke down today from what I believe to be fuel starvation.

It was the first time that I have filled the tank since getting the 68.

It has a custom filler so I can't determine if the stock one was vented or not.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks, Mark.

Yes, it should have a vent in it. As you pull fuel out of the tank, some air has to enter the tank to take it's place, or a vacuum will form.
