Fan shrouds
I need to find a fan shroud for my truck but I'm not sure what exactly will fit. My 350 is in the inline 6 spot but I have a long 9" water pump on it with a clutch fan and am running the stock 2 or 3 core rad. Anyone have any suggestions on what would be a good donor?? a van or maybe a big block??

i don't see why you can't use the stock shroud all you'd have to do is locate the fan in the shroud with the use of the proper width fan spacer available at any good autoparts store

a stock shroud for the 67-72 should work with the long waterpump (2wd/sb/ V8). im not sure on the clutch fan , as far as lenght, but my setup ran the stock sb shroud with a short spacer & flex fan......untill it was swapped to dual electrics

I plan on swapping out the clutch fan for electric ones in the coming months, but for now I just need one that will work. I am off to the yard this morning and will be sure to pick one up. Thanks guys

Tim, I have the stock 2WD shroud. As you know, I have the exact same set up as you. It works fine although the fan is not within the shroud. I've been told the big block 4X4 shroud would enclose the fan - although that's just hearsay at this point. To make sure nobody loses a finger in my fan, I put an extension on the shroud - just a 3 inch wide strip of aluminum pop riveted to the shroud. Have fun at the wrecking yard.

 TIM -- A FAN SCHROUD OFF A 80s VAN WILL FIT WITH NO MODIFICATIONS. THE HOLE THAT THE FAN BLADE GOES INTO IS A LITTLE BIGGER (ALLOWING YOU TO USE A BIG BLOCK FAN) & THEY ARE ABOUT TWICE AS THICK AS A STOCK TRUCK SHROUD. SEE PIC.S.. VAN SHROUD IS ON THE RIGHT IN PIC.S & IS ACTUALLY A MUCH BETTER SHROUD, & IS REDILY AVAILABLE.  JOHN

do you really need one just yet?
I am running a 350 with clutch fan & no shroud. so far the weather has been up to about 92 F & truck has not gone past 195 F. I do plan on putting in dual elecs though.

When I bought my truck five years ago it didn't have a shroud,
and it still hasn't one today. Never had problems with cooling, not even when towing. But it looks better with a shroud, so one from a 80's Van looks like a good option. junkyardjohn, could you give me more specific info on which Van (Year) I could use? It's easier to find parts for a Van over here. One day I do hope to upgrade to a dual electric fan setup. Cya, Edmond

Thanks for the tip John! I'll have to go van hunting, as my shroud isn't even close to correct (the previous owner put it on with zip ties
 ).
